The Tab That Ruined Everything!

I wrote my last post on why I believe IG Story tags were the new way to boost yourself without paying when compared to the Instagram feed, but I didn't explicitly explain why.
Well, here's why: First of all... posts in the hashtag section show up as small thumbnails that can easily get scrolled past unless they feature clickbait, while with stories the viewer is focusing only on your post. Second of all... Instagram added that tab that RUINED EVERYTHING (unless you're already popular)!

How did it ruin everything? This "Top" tab shows only the most popular posts using a hashtag and the recent tab shows everyone else's in chronological order. The problem is that nobody really clicks that "recent" tab except spammers (if you actually click that on the regular, let me know in the comments...). If you're popular already, however, this tab is great because most of your posts will get shown on a tag just because you're more popular than the others using it, and as a bonus, people who follow that tag will see your post on their feed, making you even more popular. But what do you do if you're NOT popular?
3 WAYS TO USE HASHTAGS IF YOU'RE NOT VERY POPULAR
Use smaller hashtags and see if you can show up in the top tag due to less competition
Look up a big hashtag such as #instagram and look at the related hashtags which are less popular but still relevant
Create your own hashtag and tell your followers to follow it and use it
